Linda Huber claims that she is a self taught professional pencil artist, whose drawings will make you rub your eyes in disbelief, amazed at how  realistic they truly are . When first seen it would be easy to believe that you were looking at black and white photographs,  but every one of these astounding images is drawn by hand with graphite pencils.

Linda says of her work  “I draw not only what I see but what I know! For example, from years of doing portrait work I know the anatomy of a face, I also know for realism you should never skip over any individual details. Details such as that perfect balance of light and shadow to define the shape of ones face, unique flickers of light in each eye, hair texture, (including eyelashes and eyebrows) and even pores in the skin”.

“Often times when drawing extreme details I will not look at the whole and will turn the reference and drawing upside-down and work on a tiny section. This technique forces me to focus more intently on those details. It’s so relaxing and so natural for me to draw in such a blind state”.

The art of drawing with pencil has been a major part of her life for over 40 years, and she finds the recreation of life as we see and know it with just a simple pencil very exciting. She finds working on a drawing for many hours is so relaxing that she has a hard time putting her pencil down to take a break.

She was into art very young, and at an early age was drawing from life, though as the years passed and the drawings became more detailed they took much longer to finish. Today she draws primarily from reference photos and most examples of her  work each take anywhere from 20-80 hours to complete.

She is a self taught artist, striving for realism in each piece,  and taking great pleasure in capturing every fine detail. She finds portraiture to be a rewarding challenge due to the vast features and unique personalities. Drawing inanimate objects is another favorite of hers, textures such as metal and glass being extremely interesting and fun to draw.

For over a decade people from across the USA and all over the world have commissioned her to draw loved ones, friends, animals, cars, etc. Her artwork has been used in advertisement, books, and has been featured on many internet sites, Ovation TV, The Japanese show “Unbelievable” among other exhibitions.

This is a truly gifted artist whose stunning images will give a great deal of pleasure to any who care to view them.  She captures, in some magical way, the very essence of the person, animal or inanimate object that she draws, giving a complete extra dimension to her extraordinarily detailed pictures. No photographer could do as well as Linda Huber does it with paper and a pencil. What a superb example of artistic talent.
